Heartwarming Gift for Fordwater School

Shortly before Christmas, Fordwater School in Chichester received a much-needed gift: a new shipping container. JC Portable Site Accommodation Ltd provided this container free of charge. This generous donation offers clean and secure storage for the school’s special needs equipment.

Celebrating a Generous Donation

Fordwater School celebrated the arrival of the shipping container. This donation is invaluable for a school short on funding. The new container replaces an obsolete storage shed. Consequently, it provides a secure space that helps maintain the school’s equipment in good order.

Installation Event

The installation of the container was quite an event. Volunteers craned the unit into position from Blomfield Road. They temporarily closed the road for the task. With the help of local volunteers, the installation finished just before the next bus was due. The school expressed their gratitude to Danny Mears Transport Ltd, the local residents of Graylingwell Park, Stagecoach Bus Company, and the volunteers.

Serving Vulnerable Children

Fordwater School serves some of the most vulnerable children. Many have severe and complex learning difficulties. These children require a lot of additional support equipment, necessitating suitable storage. With increasing enrollments, the demand for space has become critical.

Urgent Needs and Future Plans

Ideally, the school needs more storage and additional classrooms. An urgent redevelopment of the early years department is desperately needed. This department was originally built as a temporary facility many years ago. Meanwhile, the gift of this container is gratefully received. The children are excited to paint the container, giving it a colorful identity that reflects the school’s character.
